Biography

Rick began writing in 1998, inspired by his father, who spent years working on what he believed would be the next great American novel. Sadly, before anyone but Rick could read his story, the Lord called him home.

Rick’s first novel, Footprints, was published in 2012. Set against the backdrop of Wisconsin’s northern forests, the mystery drew inspiration from Rick’s own hunting experiences and love for the outdoors.

In 2013, while living in Minnesota, Rick gave his life to Christ during a life-changing phone call with his high school sweetheart, Sheri. That moment transformed not only his personal life, but also the direction of his writing. Since then, Rick has focused on Christian mystery and inspirational fiction that blends heartfelt storytelling with themes of faith, forgiveness, redemption, and personal calling.

His first Christian novel, That Was Me, was released in September 2025. The story follows Abigail through tragedy, healing, and the realization that God had been guiding her life all along.

Rick’s upcoming novel, I Am Called, tells the story of a young baseball player struggling with identity, abandonment, and redemption after his father returns home from the Vietnam war.

In 2014, Rick returned to his hometown in Nevada and reunited with Sheri after thirty-two years apart. The couple married later that year and enjoy serving in their church together and RVing. Rick enjoys learning guitar, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, and spending time outdoors fly fishing and golfing. His greatest passion is creating faith-centered stories that encourage readers to recognize God’s purpose in everyday life.
